Event services cannot be “returned” the way goods can, so this policy does the next best thing: it tells you plainly, before you engage Auditsmith Events Sdn Bhd, what happens to your money if plans change.
The principle
We refund everything we have not yet earned or committed. What cannot come back is work already performed and supplier payments already locked — and we document both, line by line, in every cancellation statement.
Cancellation schedule
Measured from written notice to the event date:
- More than 90 days out: full refund of production payments; the booking deposit is retained as it covers work already done (concept, venue holds, budgeting).
- 89 to 45 days out: refund of production payments minus supplier deposits already committed and management time logged, both itemised.
- 44 to 15 days out: at this point most supplier payments are locked; we refund whatever remains recoverable, typically 20–40% of production costs.
- 14 days or fewer: refunds are limited to amounts suppliers themselves return; our management fee is fully earned by this stage.
Postponement first
Before cancelling, ask us about moving the date. Most suppliers will transfer deposits to a new date within six months at little or no cost, and our management fee transfers with them. Postponement almost always preserves more of your budget than cancellation.
If we cancel
If we ever have to cancel an engagement for reasons within our control — it has not happened yet — you receive a full refund of all payments including the booking deposit, within fourteen days.
Deposits paid to venues and vendors you contracted directly
Payments made by you directly to venues or vendors sit under their refund terms, not ours. We will help you negotiate recovery, but we cannot refund money we never held.
How refunds are paid
Refunds go back by bank transfer to the account that paid, within fourteen days of the agreed cancellation statement, in Malaysian Ringgit. We do not offer cash refunds or transfers to third-party accounts.
